Built for little ones, with a parent in charge
BolBolo is made for children aged 3 to 10. Every part of it, from sign-up to the last word the buddy says, is designed with their safety in mind.
A grown-up is always in charge
Only a parent or guardian can create an account, and they give consent before a child records their voice. Settings sit behind a grown-up check.
Children only talk to their buddy
There is no chat, messaging or friend requests with other people. The class leaderboard shows first names, avatars and XP only, and parents can switch it off.
Safety filters on every message
What children say is checked for personal details (like phone numbers or addresses) and unsafe topics. What the AI says back is checked again before your child hears it. Anything worrying is gently redirected and flagged for our team to review.
We never ask for personal details
The buddy is told never to ask for a full name, address, phone number, school name or photos. Children use an animal avatar, not a photo.
No ads and no selling data
BolBolo shows no advertising, has no in-app purchases for children, and never sells personal data.
Recordings don’t stay for long
Voice recordings are deleted automatically after 30 days. Only a few best answers are kept, so parents can listen to them, until you delete them.
Healthy screen time
Practice is designed for about 15 minutes a day. Parents can set a daily time limit, and the AI conversation time per day is capped.
Delete anything, any time
Delete a child’s profile or the whole account from the app, and all of the related data and recordings go with it.
How the AI is used
An AI language model writes the buddy’s replies, role-play lines, gentle corrections and the parents’ weekly report. We send it only what it needs: the child’s first name, their level, the conversation and the text of what they said. It never receives your email, phone number or address.
Speech-to-text happens on your child’s phone using the phone’s built-in speech recognition. The buddy’s voice is made on our own servers.
The details, including the companies we work with and where data is processed, are in our privacy policy. Questions? Write to privacy@bolbolo.com.
